Khmer Fried Pumpkin (ល្ពៅឆា ខ្មែរ)

Ingredients (គ្រឿងផ្សំ)

  • Pork (សាច់ជ្រូក) – 200g
  • Pumpkin (ល្ពៅ) – 500g
  • Eggs (ស៊ុត) – 4
  • Garlic (ខ្ទឹម) x 3 cloves
  • Spring Onion (ខ្ទឹមម៉្យាងដើមតូច) – 3 sprigs
  • Salt (អំបិល) – pinch
  • MSG (ស្រេចចិត្ត) – pinch
  • Sugar (ស្ករ) – 2 tsp
  • Stock (ម្សៅសាច់មាន) – 1 tsp

First up this week is an easy Khmer dish using Pumpkins..  The sellers at my market telling me nobody is buying these in Cambodia right now, so its a good time to go and buy them while they are cheap and support local produce!

  1. Peel and chop pumpkin
  2. Chop garlic and spring onion
  3. Heat pan and add oil then add spring onion
  4. Add pumpkin and season with salt sugar and stock
  5. Add a cup of water, oyster sauce
  6. Flatten pumpkin and add eggs
  7. Stir over heat until flavours combined
